The Assam Government delivers online verification for Birth Certificates through the Sewa Setu portal at https://sewasetu.assam.gov.in/. The Birth Certificate is a government-issued document issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act 1969, used as primary proof of age and identity for school admissions, passports and welfare schemes. Citizens, employers, educational institutions, scholarship boards and government recruiters verify the authenticity of any Birth Certificate issued in Assam by entering the application reference number, holder's name and date of issue. The verifier page returns issuance status, holder demographic data and the certificate's validity period. The service is integrated with the State CSC network so applications, downloads and physical print outs are available at every Common Service Centre across the State. Authentication is also possible via the QR code printed on each digitally-signed certificate.
